No halloween music (yet, I do have the Monster Mash on here don’t make me use it), just what I’ve been listening to lately.
- Battles – Tonto (Four Tet remix)
- The Kinks – Powerman
Really all of Lola vs. Powerman after seeing The Darjeeling Limited/Hotel Chevalier on saturday. Wes Anderson doesn’t make bad movies, after all the shit reviews I’ve heard I’ve got to say all you people are fucking wrong. It’s just as good as Life Aquatic and Rushmore AND Royal Tenenbaums, if not better. And considering how high Tenenbaums is on my all-time list, that’s really saying something (note to self – actually make that list one day).
also: AC Newman – Slow Wonder, Pulp – This Is Hardcore, PJ Harvey – Stories from the City, Stories from the Sea, The Afghan Whigs – Black Love, and “Oh Sweet Nothin’ ” by the Velvet Underground.
Mostly to get in the right headspace for FD13. Which is has no title, and five pages in, I’m already stuck. There’s a big gap of time between 12 and 13. The status quo is changing dramatically and I’m really, really not used to it yet.

I’ve been listening to The Velvet’s second album a lot recently, singing Alan Moore’s alternate “Mister A” lyrics over “Sister Ray”.
