Detective Comics 854 – “Elegy pt.1 Agitato” – Greg Rucka, JH Williams III, Dave Stewart.
First panel up is some guy running through an alley. It’s in monochrome gray, he’s breathing heavily. The graffiti on the wall he’s running past simply says “MAGIC”. He turns around and Batwoman is there in color.
That’s brilliant. It’s not subtle in any way, but I don’t think anyone else picked up on it.
