Matt Seneca and I have collaborated again on a fairly massive blog post on Bill Sienkiewicz’s and Frank Miller’s gonzo noise masterpiece, Elektra Assassin. Not only is it one of my favorite comics – definitely my favorite comic of my favorite comics decade – it’s also been the comic I’ve tried and failed to write about the most. Seriously, this is a hard comic to talk about without just jabbering about the surface detail stuff. After working with Matt once and having a ton of fun doing it (because Matt and I totally disagree about the half of everything we don’t immediately agree about – a lot of the time we’re working we’re arguing about something, and I love that). It was nice to finally get to write about Assassin, after Booze, Broads and Bullets last year it felt like I was tending to unfinished business. With Matt, I knew I wasn’t going to be able to make any arguments without being able to back them up. The final piece stretches a little further from the boundaries of the book, but I think we’ve gotten as close to nailing it down as anyone else has.

Of course! Yeah that’s the one I have sitting here for months still unwatched. Now I feel dumb.
I love that you understand how important Elektra: Assassin is.
